What is horizontal boring?
The Horizontal boring process is made possible through the use of a boring machine. The boring machine can place new utility lines underground, without disturbing surface level land. Horizontal boring is used when there is no previous existing pipe. Just like trenchless technology and pipe bursting, horizontal boring does not require you to trench up the ground.
For example, in new construction, when utilities need to be run from the street to a new home being built, horizontal boring can be used.
Building a granny unit or ADU are also examples when utilities from the main house need to be taken to the new dwelling.
